Why today's kids don't understand math

This is the NEW New Math, and it's no wonder kids have no understanding of mathematics.

By the way, this kind of complete obfuscation is taking place in every subject. Not just math.
And it's deliberate.
This is how you turn people into cattle.

Hahaha! This new "method" of teaching could be the problem. But honestly I think that the kids themselves are changing because of the introduction of technology. This new technology makes their minds lazy and the kids never really learn anything.

It's actually hilarious how people are trying to find new (harder) ways to do the simplest of the things. Stupid, stupid society. When will they ever learn?!

Hi Pebble,

Very interesting. Another problem is that I've thought that math is often taught without a context or a framework to hang it on. Most other classes you automatically understand the purpose of learning your subject. Learning to solve problems without knowing why or even what you're solving is often too disembodied for young minds to grasp as well as to see its value.
